There’s no better compliment than a customer calling you back three years later—especially after they’ve moved to another state. We recently completed this garage floor in Frankford, Delaware, for a returning Dragon Scale Flooring customer.
Approximately three years ago, we installed a decorative chip floor in her garage in Elkridge, Maryland. Over the years, she continued receiving compliments on how great the floor looked and, more importantly, how well it was holding up compared with garage floors installed by other companies in her neighborhood.

When she decided to relocate to Delaware and purchase a newly built home, she knew exactly who she wanted to install the garage floor. She contacted us approximately 2½ weeks before the scheduled installation, and we made sure the project was completed on time and ready before she moved into her new home.
For this garage, we installed what we like to call our “Sandwich Floor” system:
• Epoxy base coat
• ¼” decorative vinyl chip broadcast to refusal
• UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat
But a quality garage floor is about much more than what you see in the middle of the room.
As is customary with our installations, we coated the stem walls—not only the vertical face, but across the top as well—to create a more completely sealed floor system.
At the transition between the horizontal floor and vertical wall, we also install a caulked cove radius. This helps seal an area that is commonly overlooked while still allowing movement as the concrete expands and contracts with thermal changes. It also helps prevent moisture, insects, dirt, and debris from working their way through the perimeter joint.
Those details take more time.
They also matter.
We’re not interested in simply making a garage floor look good on installation day. We want to install a system that is properly prepared, detailed, and built to perform for years.
This customer had already lived with one of our floors for approximately three years. When it came time to build her new home, she wanted the same quality again. That’s the kind of repeat business we work for.
